Tripoli: In a recent televised interview with The Libya Al-Ahrar Channel, Dabaiba expressed the government’s steadfast commitment to completing its security operation aimed at “extending state authority.” He asserted that the time has come to reclaim the state, emphasizing that no airport, port, or prison will remain outside governmental control.
According to Libyan News Agency, Dabaiba stated that the government is moving forward with its security plan and will not retreat from dismantling militias and armed formations. He outlined the policy of ensuring all ports, airports, and crossings are under the jurisdiction of the state’s regular agencies. Furthermore, Dabaiba highlighted the success in thwarting arms supplies from other countries to certain militias.
Dabaiba made it clear that there is no desire for war, yet he set forth conditions for peace, which include imposing state authority, handing over wanted individuals to the Public Prosecutor, and dissolving militias. He warned that those who reject these conditions may face uncertain consequences, underscoring the government’s resolve to maintain security and order.
