Central Bank of Libya Focuses on Expanding Electronic Payment Services

Tripoli: The Central Bank of Libya is closely monitoring the expansion of electronic payment services. Governor Naji Issa held a meeting with several commercial bank general managers, alongside representatives from the Muamalat Financial Services Company and electronic payment service providers.

According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting concentrated on the latest advancements in electronic payment services, evaluating performance indicators and the banking sector's preparedness for upcoming phases. These efforts align with the Central Bank's strategy to promote financial inclusion.

Discussions also covered the technical and technological challenges associated with expanding electronic payment services. Systematic mechanisms were explored to ensure business continuity. The Governor emphasized the importance of creating a secure environment that boosts user confidence and aligns with international standards.
