Tripoli: The permanent headquarters of the Executive Secretariat of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States (CEN-SAD) was inaugurated in Tripoli on Saturday. The event was attended by the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdelhamid Dbaiba, along with several ministers from member states and permanent ambassadors of the member states.
According to Libyan News Agency, the newly reopened building features seven floors, including a ground floor dedicated to the accreditation of ambassadors to the Community. The facility also includes spaces for meetings and several rooms for subsidiary meetings.
CEN-SAD, which was established on February 4, 1998, in Tripoli, comprises 25 African countries bordering the Sahara and the Sahel. The organization holds observer status with the United Nations.
