Tripoli: The Minister of Interior of the Government of National Unity, Major General Imad al-Tarabulsi, emphasized the Ministry's high-paced operations and presence across Libya. He underscored its role as the primary security institution responsible for maintaining security and stability throughout the nation.
According to Libyan News Agency, this announcement was made during a ceremony for the handover of 800 motor vehicles aimed at bolstering the Ministry of Interior's capabilities as part of its comprehensive security plan. The event saw the attendance of the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Public Affairs, various department heads, security directors, officers, and numerous other attendees.
In his address, Major General Al-Tarabulsi highlighted the critical need to rebuild the security institution represented by the Ministry of Interior. He asserted that such efforts are essential for safeguarding citizens and ensuring the nation's security and stability.
The Minister affirmed that the security directorates are the competent authorities charged with enforcing ground-level security. He noted a notable resurgence of police officers in the streets and squares after a period of absence. Police stations are actively engaging with citizens by receiving complaints and issuing reports, signifying the restoration of an effective security presence.
The vehicles were distributed to the security directorates of Tajoura, Al-Marqab, Zliten, Misrata, Bani Walid, and Tarhuna, as well as to the General Directorate of Central Support, the General Directorate of Training, and the General Directorate of Ports Security, according to the Ministry of Interior.
