Tripoli: Minister of Transportation and Financial Advisor to the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Mohamed Al-Shahoubi, recently met with Boeing’s executive management team to discuss strategies for advancing Libya’s transportation sector.
According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting was attended by several key figures, including Jeremy Berndt, the Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy in Libya, members of the Libyan-American Business and Investment Council, Acting Minister of Oil and Gas Khalifa Abdul-Sadiq, Mustafa Al-Manaa, Head of the Executive Team for Presidential Initiatives and Projects, and national experts. Discussions focused on determining the size of the aircraft fleet and developing programs for training national personnel. Additionally, they explored cooperation avenues between the government and Boeing to support the Prime Minister’s initiative to rejuvenate the transportation sector.
The meeting also involved a thorough assessment of the Libyan market, identifying technical
and operational requirements for launching the company, and discussing the necessary steps for its registration and official establishment. This initiative coincides with the Ministry of Transportation’s ongoing projects to develop the country’s airports, aimed at enhancing service quality, improving aviation sector efficiency, and bolstering management and operational capabilities. These efforts align with broader objectives to diversify Libya’s national economy and income sources.
