Tripoli: The Head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Al-Menfi, met with the Head of the High Council of State, Mohammed Takala, at the Council's headquarters in Tripoli to discuss the implementation of the national agreement aimed at concluding the preparatory phase between the three councils.
According to Libyan News Agency, the Presidential Council's media office reported that the meeting focused on strategies to broaden participation in order to safeguard national sovereignty and the democratic system amidst various challenges. The approach involves enhancing transparency and ensuring the free will of members of legitimate institutions through a serious and time-bound process as specified in the document. The process includes activating a 15-member liaison committee elected at the electoral district level and preparing necessary draft laws following constitutional provisions and political agreement. These drafts require the collective preparation by the Presidential Council, in binding consultation with the High Council of State, and subsequent submission to the Libyan House of Representatives for approval after discussion according to its internal mechanisms.
