Al-Menfi and Somali President Discuss Bilateral Relations in New Alamein

New Alamein:The President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Menfi, held a meeting with the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, today in the city of New Alamein.

According to Libyan News Agency, the discussion focused on strengthening bilateral relations between Libya and Somalia. The leaders explored ways to enhance cooperation and joint coordination across various fields to benefit the mutual interests and aspirations of the two nations.

The meeting also covered recent developments in the Horn of Africa, where both sides exchanged views on regional issues of common concern, particularly security and stability challenges on the African continent.

President Mohamud praised President Al-Menfi's supportive stance on Somalia's unity and sovereignty. He reiterated Somalia's support for a Libyan-led political process that promotes stability and peace through inclusive participation.

In response, Al-Menfi expressed gratitude for Somalia's backing of Libya's political process and its advocacy for Libyan national ownership in international forums, including the UN Security Council, the African Union, and the League of Arab States.
