Tripoli: Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, welcomed UK Ambassador to Libya, Martin Longden, on Wednesday, marking the conclusion of Longden’s diplomatic service and official duties in the nation.
According to Libyan News Agency, the Presidential Media Office highlighted that the meeting focused on reviewing and enhancing the cooperative relationship between Libya and the United Kingdom across various sectors to support mutual interests and foster stability and development in Libya. Discussions also covered recent political and security developments and the ongoing efforts to support the political process.
Al-Lafi expressed his sincere gratitude for Ambassador Longden’s role during his tenure, acknowledging his significant contributions to strengthening the cordial relations between the two countries, improving bilateral cooperation, and his steadfast support for a political settlement process that respects national sovereignty.
Furthermore, Al-Lafi reiterated the Presidential Council’s commitment to continue and broaden the partnership with the United Kingdom to further enhance stability and benefit both nations.
