Al-Hamli reviews progress of implementing projects in Al-Thawra Hospital in Hodeida

The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation, Ibrahim Al-Hamli, was briefed on Tuesday on the progress of work in implementing the project to build the Center for Prosthetic Limbs and Prosthetic Devices at Al-Thawra General Hospital Authority in Hodeida Governorate.

Al-Hamli listened to an explanation from the head of the commission, Dr. Khaled Suhail, about the project being implemented by the Handicap Organization, with the support of the European Union, at a cost of $620,000, including equipment, to provide its services to patients from the governorates of Hodeidah, Hajjah, Raymah, and others, at a rate of five thousand beneficiaries annually.

It was discussed that the Limbs Center represents an urgent priority to provide care, rehabilitation and physiotherapy services to patients who have lost limbs and to help them integrate into society.

Al-Hamli stressed the importance of completing the project and adhering to the technical specifications and studies that were prepared in line with the aspirations and meeting the patients' needs.

The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council, along with the head of the Al-Thawra Hospital Authority, also inspected the progress of the ongoing work in the two nutrition centers projects in the authority, funded by the World Health Organization, and the care building with annexes, self-financed from the Yaman organization vouchers, which contains 33 beds.

Al-Hamli praised these projects, stressing the keenness of the Supreme Council and its branch to maintain follow-up on their implementation and overcome any obstacles, in a way that contributes to strengthening the response and support for completing infrastructure projects in the Al-Thawra General Hospital Authority.

He explained that the visit comes within the framework of the Council's interest in reviewing a number of projects and the level of project implementation in coordination with humanitarian action partners in various fields, including health and water.

While the head of the hospital board, Dr. Suhail, appreciated the interest and keenness of the Supreme Council and its branch in maintaining the hospital's support in implementing these projects, which will contribute to raising the level of medical and treatment services in the hospital in line with its needs for infrastructure projects.

He was accompanied during the visit by the director of the council branch in the governorate, Jaber Al-Razhi, and the local organizations in the council, Abdulsalam Al-Nawab, and the representative of the Handicap organization, Duncan Paul.
