Al-Baour Engages in Talks with UK Minister on Bilateral Cooperation


Tripoli: The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Taher Al-Baour, engaged in discussions concerning the bilateral relations between Libya and the United Kingdom with the UK Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa, Hamish Faulkner. The talks focused on exploring ways to enhance joint cooperation across various fields.

According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting addressed support for the political process and contributions to stability efforts, alongside discussions on several regional and international issues of mutual interest. Al-Baour highlighted the importance of the partnership with the United Kingdom, emphasizing areas such as development and capacity building. He expressed appreciation for the UK’s role in the Security Council concerning the cessation of the war on Gaza and the necessity of lifting the siege to allow humanitarian and food aid into the Strip.

Faulkner reaffirmed the UK’s commitment to supporting Libya in achieving stability and progress. He
noted the British government’s interest in strengthening bilateral cooperation, grounded in mutual respect and shared interests. The Ministry stated that this meeting is part of ongoing communication between the Government of National Unity and its international partners, aimed at joint coordination to support peace and stability efforts in the region.
