Al-Baour and Ethiopian Ambassador Discuss Strengthening Libya-Ethiopia Cooperation.


Tripoli: The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Taher Al-Baour, engaged in discussions with the Ethiopian Ambassador to Libya, Hassan Ibrahim Musa, to explore avenues for enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two nations. The meeting focused on reviewing the progress of existing collaborations and strengthening ties between Libya and Ethiopia.

According to Libyan News Agency, the discussions included strategies to follow up on the outcomes of the visit by the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba, to Addis Ababa in recent months. This visit resulted in the reactivation of the Joint High Committee across various sectors between the two countries’ institutions. Additionally, efforts are underway to sign more memoranda of understanding and agreements that will benefit the shared interests of both nations.

The meeting took place at the Ministry’s headquarters in Tripoli and also addressed the potential for establishing a direct airline ro
ute for Ethiopian Airlines to Libyan cities. Furthermore, both parties considered the exchange of visits through high-level ministerial delegations to facilitate the resumption of the joint committee’s activities and the reopening of the Ethiopian embassy in Tripoli.

Al-Baour shared with the Ethiopian ambassador the plans for a technical delegation, comprising experts and managers from Libyan investment companies, to visit Addis Ababa. This delegation aims to bolster cooperation between Libya and Ethiopia across various sectors.
