Al-Baour and Chinese Ambassador Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations

Tripoli: The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity, Taher Al-Baour, met with the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Libya, Ma Xueliang, on Thursday. The meeting was also attended by the Director of the Department of Asian and Australian Affairs, Al-Hassan Mohammed Bin Rabha.

According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations and developing the strategic partnership between Libya and China. Key areas of potential cooperation discussed included the economy, investment, infrastructure, and energy, alongside trade, education, health, and technology.

The discussion also highlighted the importance of encouraging Chinese companies to resume their projects in Libya and exploring new investment opportunities. Such initiatives are expected to support development and enhance economic cooperation between the two nations.

Both parties exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest, underscoring the necessity of continued coordination and consultation in international forums to bolster security, stability, and development.

The Chinese ambassador expressed China's pride in its historical relations with Libya and affirmed China's commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation and supporting Libya's development efforts. This reflects the robust relationship and strategic partnership between the two countries.
