Al-Aqouri and Indian Ambassador Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations in Libya

Tripoli: The Chairman of the House of Representatives' Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Committee, Youssef Al-Aqouri, met with the Indian Ambassador to Libya, Hafiz Rahman, to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations and develop cooperation between the two countries in the political, economic, and educational fields.

According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting focused on exploring prospects for Libyan-Indian cooperation and strategies to enhance bilateral relations in a manner that benefits common interests, emphasizing the partnership between the two nations. Ambassador Hafiz Rahman expressed gratitude to Al-Aqouri for his efforts in monitoring the affairs of the Indian community in Libya and supporting communication and coordination to assure their safety.

The Indian Ambassador further affirmed India's commitment to bolstering its diplomatic presence in Libya, announcing plans to open an Indian consulate in Benghazi. This new consulate is expected to facilitate consular services, thereby enhancing the collaboration between both countries in various sectors.
